I called Cadent Gas Services as I could smell gas in my house after being away for a few days. The call handler gave me all the advise; like opening doors and windows and not turning lights on etc to keep us safe.They promptly sent out their engineers who identified a gas leak under my floor, the pipes serviced a fire and cooker, both no longer in use and pipes had been capped. To my relief, they were able stop the gas going into the old, disused pipes by capping at source and inserting new pipe to the boiler. I had visions of 2 of my floors being dug up! Fortunately, they also found 2 leaks in a pipe under my boiler, they didn't have the correct pipe to fix this, but this is covered under my boiler servicing. They advised me to leave the gas switched off and ring my gas supplier, who came the next morning and all was resolved.I am very grateful to both engineers, they were very professional, friendly,and helpful, communicating at every stage which I found very helpful at a stressful time.
