I had a leak last Friday night and the 1st engineer couldn’t fix the issue for some reason. He isolated the gas and told me someone would come with a heater. The engineer who turned up with the heater was lovely , he asked what the issue was and came in to have a look. He said he could fix the problem (cutting an old fireplace pipe and capping it). He fixed the issue within 5 minutes and also saved me a weekend call out charge with a heating company. Also it was cold so he wanted to ensure I had heating that night.
