Terrible! Cadent have been replacing the gas main in our road, this meant they had to enter properties to renew the mains and complete a gas test. Not once did they ask politley whether it would be okay and arrange a date and time that was convienient. Unfortunatly when they arranged to come to the house one of our family members had been diagnosed with COVID-19. I informed one of the staff on site in the morning as I went to work (I was isolating away from the family in our summer house). My partner rang me during the day and informed me that they knocked on the dorr to speak to someone 4 times, on one occassion one of the workers demanded to see the test result! Having worked in the Building Services industry myself I was absoulutly shocked that this had happened. We were told we would be without gas for 2 weeks, which I said I was okay with as we have an electric shower and electric oven, we also have an electric fireplace in the living room. When the isolation period had ended I spoke to Cadent customer services to arrange getting the job finished I was given a day and time however nobody turned up, nobody rang. When I called them I was informed that it could not be done that day but an engineer would be with me at 8:30 the next day. The engineer knocked on the door at 9:10 and tod me they would be round after 1 to start as there was an old lady who was more prioity than us - we have 2 people in our house who are on the proiriy register. We did not ask for this work to be done, I do understand that mains need to be renewed, however we feel we have been treated poorley and spoken to by Cadent workers as if they have a right to enter our property whenever they feel like! Disgusting! Shame on you.
