Cowboys and Liars - be careful!

If I could this would be NO STARS! My mum was feeling dizzy and sick on Saturday 6th Feb. I mentioned to my boyfriend- He panicked and called the gas company to check if the house was okay and no carbon-monoxide gas leaks etc. Please note 2 other people live in property and are in good health. The property showed no signs of carbonmonoxide leaks and flames on cooker were all burning bright blue etc as advised on Cadent website. As soon as he arrived he said that he would be inserting a disc, turning the gas supply off and that was BEFORE he even did any safety and appliance checks. It was only when I said you haven’t checked anything that he then started waving the machine around reporting false numbers. He claimed the cooker was reading critically high levels but worryingly did not condemn it and deem dangerous to use with any stickers etc Surely this is standard safety practise if this was true?! He did not show me any of this data despite my request. His main focus was cutting off the supply...nothing else. During the ‘tests’ I asked engineer why the machine made no sound and he said he leant on it with his knee and accidentally muted it!!!!Based on this I knew something was very wrong and asked for a retest. He refused to redo the checks even after numerous requests by me.Engineer called his boss and he admitted on the phone that the machine engineer uses is for HIS own safety waking around and is not designed to test appliances and the only reason for the gas cut off was based on a phone call that was not even made by me.They both ignored the fact that two others also live at the property and are absolutely fine. I offered to share my parents medical notes but that was also ignored. The boss has said they attended for SUSPECTED carbon monoxide leak but Engineer did not find any carbon monoxide readings that he logged or shared with us or retested at our request. It was a phony visit resulting in our supply being disconnected. I appreciate genuine people are out there doing their job keeping people safe but what Cadent are doing is a diabolical abuse of power and giving good engineers a bad name.We are now without hot water, heating and gas during lockdown in winter!
