When I started on Cambly, it was fine. It's advertised to tutors as a place where they only have to converse, not teach. However, it seems that they advertise to students in an opposite manner. So students expect you to spend hours creating personalized lesson plans for niche subjects, while Cambly pays peanuts, and lies in its' ads to professors. They also refuse to show you your reviews, so you never know what students might have rated you poorly for. If you don't know - you can't improve. They don't pay enough to live, and some teachers try to justify it by saying that they keep prices low for students. That's a lie. Students have told me that their subscription costs are going up, but is my salary? Nope.
