Having had a positive experience with Capricorn FC in 2021, my partner was contacted again ahead of his re-mortgage. He scheduled an online meeting on 2 January; no one showed and no apologies were given, in advance or subsequently. Despite this, my partner arranged a follow up meeting on 6 January. Mortgage options and requirements were discussed with a promise the advisor would provide more detailed options in the next few working days. Those few days turned to weeks; 3 weeks - 24 January, in fact, after a chaser email was sent. In the meantime, another broker acting independently wrapped up the remortgage within a matter of days. My partner emailed the company setting out his experience, hoping it would help them understand where it may lose customers and to enable them to take action to address the issues highlighted. To date, Capricorn haven’t had the curtesy of acknowledging the email (though as noted, the options were sent several days after so it appears to have been received), let alone apologising or setting out what steps they’d take to prevent it from happening again.Based on this experience, we would not recommend Capricorn. It’s one thing to have an unprofessional advisor but for the company to fail to acknowledge a polite email highlighting issues shows a lack of concern for customers that speaks volumes.
