What happened to me whilst studying at this provider will stay with me forever, but I will use it in my quest to ensure these businesses do better. Despite my disclosure of a disability at the start of the course, I was reminded of the persistent, systemic failure to treat people with disabilities with basic dignity and respect. Was that really too much to ask? There were several members of the training team, I was gaslighted, belittled, ignored, made to feel invisible and unworthy, and my needs were dismissed as if they simply didn’t matter. The trauma I experienced silenced me for a long time to the point I even gaslighted myself. Was I the problem? No, Angela, you were NOT. They were. I was laying in my hospital bed with stroke symptoms and still determined to attend class, I did! I will no longer be silenced! Those living with disabilities, who are neurodivergent, and anyone facing mental health challenges deserve more than lip serviced promises of “inclusion” yes, that old chestnut. We deserve to be listened to, believed, and treated as equals. Too often, organisations are quick to congratulate themselves on “diversity” while failing, and I was certainly failed by this training company, and I thoroughly enjoyed the cybersecurity domain as well.Creating environments where everyone can succeed should have been their mantra. Instead, they withdrew me from the course, brushed me under the carpet, and ceased communication. NEVER AGAIN....*There was a Sikh lady, absolutely lovely a tutor and ex lecturer I believe. She absolutely was not involved in this behaviour, in fact she had a lot of empathy and understanding.
All the tutors are hands on with helping you progress. I was offered a job as soon as I finished my course, unfortunately, I could not accept as I was traveling. The support afterwards is continuous which makes course unique. As they don’t just drop you afterwards like most courses. They help set you up for success
This course provides everything you need to get started in cyber security. It’s felt more like a community. We have learnt so much and there’s tonnes of support available. I went through some challenging times but the tutors helped me stay on top of my learning. Provided excellent wellbeing support, careers support, were always available to answer questions. I couldn’t recommend this course enough and I’m grateful to have started my cyber journey with CAPSLOCK
An amazing journey filled with ups and downs! No matter what, this course WILL get you job ready. The tutors are very knowledgeable and ready to answer any question you throw at them, and there is also lots of support available and the team does take into account any concerns you’re having along the way. If you’re interested into breaking into cyber this is definitely something you should look to get into.
I did get a job through CAPSLOCK’s connections, and I genuinely enjoy the GRC role I’m in now, so I can’t deny there was a positive outcome. But I left the course with serious misgivings, and I think it’s important to share them. One of the big draws for me was the emphasis on certifications. In hindsight, I accept that I should have done more due diligence on their true industry weight. That said, the way they were presented was, in my view, misleading. The advertised certs are very much at the entry level, and now that I’m in the industry I’ve been told point blank how little they count for. They were made to sound like stepping stones with real heft, but the reality is different. The course itself covered a lot of ground but often without much depth. “Width of an ocean and depth of a puddle” sums it up. We did plenty of labs, but those highlighted the limitations of the teaching staff. Penetration testing was the worst example: when we got stuck, the guidance was often little more than “try adding -sudo,” and if that didn’t work, that was the end of it. The tutors were supportive and approachable, but many were alumni themselves without the technical experience to guide us properly. They also promoted a “team-based learning” model. This had its benefits, but it only went so far; the quality of your learning was capped by your team’s expertise and the tutors’ own limitations.Privately, I didn’t meet a single member of my cohort who felt fully satisfied by the end. Some were resigned to the fact they’d at least found jobs; others were bitterly disappointed. The public positivity didn’t match the private conversations, and I think the strong “family” culture CAPSLOCK pushes makes people reluctant to speak up. The career coaching reflected that same mix: the mental coaching was excellent, but other advice—like putting target roles onto CVs as if you already held them—struck me as misleading, even if the intent was just to bypass ATS filters. Then there’s the cost. Around £9,500 upfront, or much more on an income-share agreement, feels far too high. Especially when so much of the real learning had to be done independently anyway. For that money, there are many other ways to build a stronger, more respected foundation. One final observation: their domain is registered in the Ascension Islands and uses “.ac,” which at first glance looks academic but isn’t tied to academia. Make of that what you will.In the end, I did land in a job I enjoy, and for that I’m grateful. But the lack of technical depth, the questionable marketing around certifications, and the overreliance on team-based learning left me feeling it wasn’t worth the cost. CAPSLOCK may open doors, but don’t be swayed too quickly by the statistics they’ll present. Looking at the LinkedIns of many from my cohort, the outcomes tell a more mixed story than the marketing suggests.
The course is structured exceptionally well, offering immediate support that encompasses mental health resources and career transition advice. The team consistently goes above and beyond, providing assistance even after course completion. They are always just a message away, offering ongoing guidance and support to alumni. Continuous help with networking and job-hunting further demonstrates their commitment, driven by the dedicated efforts of the career teams. The tutors, founders, and administrative staff are truly outstanding. Well done, CAPSLOCK!
Comprehensive, fun, and lots of support offered alongside the content of the course. Nothing quite like it, even better than most academic courses. From the tutors' professionalism and knowledge, careers team insights assistance and weekly information sessions with guests, industry mentoring, coaching and wellbeing, structure and depth of the course, the commentary and periodic drop-ins by the founders, I CANNOT recommend CAPSLOCK highly enough!Very pleased to have studied with, and graduated from, the Ce-CSP with CAPSLOCK. I now feel more informed and confident in qualifying and hunting for my desired career path development.
CAPSLOCK made it possible for me to start a career in cybersecurity. It was an amazing experience. The support they give is incredible, and it continues even after the course has finished. Attending CAPSLOCK is not a guarantee that you will find a job in cybersecurity -- you will still need to put in the work. But it gives a fantastic foundation for starting a new career in a fast-paced and exciting field.
