I recently enquired about a 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor listed online by CarCo Midland. The vehicle was clearly advertised with aftermarket rims and tires, a key detail that caught my attention. However, upon arriving at the dealership, I immediately noticed that the wheels had been switched out — replaced with stock rims, one of which was damaged and rusted. That alone set the tone for what became an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. When I questioned the salesman, Colin, about the wheel swap, he had no explanation. He couldn’t answer several other basic questions about the car either. After a brief consultation with his manager, I was told that the original wheels were “still available,” but by this point, the credibility of the listing was already in serious doubt. When Colin returned, instead of addressing my concerns properly, he asked whether I wanted to proceed with a trade-in valuation. I explained that I first needed to see and drive the Raptor in the condition it was advertised — with the correct wheels — since handling and performance differ with different setups. His response? Colin suggested that I should simply “picture the car with the right wheels” and proceed as if they were fitted. To make matters worse, he began checking his watch repeatedly, as though I was the one wasting his time. This experience was completely unprofessional from start to finish. If the dealership had simply been transparent — or had updated the listing to reflect the car’s true condition — it would have saved me a wasted trip and a great deal of frustration. In short, CarCo Midland failed to deliver even the most basic level of honesty and customer respect. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise potential buyers to verify every detail before visiting, lest you end up with the same disappointment I did. What a thoroughly unpleasant and unprofessional experience.
