It's best to avoid driving in the city. There are individuals monitoring these cameras who profit from minor infractions caused by inadequate signage and overcrowding. Together, these factors will cost you money, and sadly, there seems to be no effective support to address human errors. This raises concerns for the future.
I would rate this council zero stars if I could. I have lived in various parts of the country, but this council stands out as one of the most corrupt. They have turned central areas into eyesores, and many residents are looking to leave due to the poor attitude towards the city. The money wasted is appalling, and decisions are made without consulting the local community or businesses. It's time to vote out the corrupt representatives.
Steer clear of driving around the city. There are individuals profiting from minor infractions due to inadequate signage and overcrowding. Together, they will take your money, and unfortunately, there seems to be no one to address or assist with human errors. This speaks volumes about the future.
This is the most corrupt service imaginable! They raise council taxes while reducing services. They hardly answer calls, and when they do, the representatives lack the knowledge to help. I spoke to someone about repeated missed waste collections, and she was utterly unhelpful, simply stating they would 'try' to come out soon.
For foreign drivers, navigating this city can feel like hell. At night, the bus-only lanes are nearly invisible. If you mistakenly drive in them, a fine will be issued, and the inability to access the website from abroad means the fine just keeps increasing. This seems like a clever money-making strategy by the city. I barely managed to pay a fine with help from a British friend. I won’t return.
I traveled from Australia for a five-week trip in July. While Cardiff impressed me, I received two £50 fines for no right turns that soured my experience. The road system is the worst in the UK, with poor signage. After driving nearly 2000 miles, this city set me up to fail.
The parking permit process is a joke! I’ve dealt with this before, and nothing has improved. I need to park in controlled zones, but the process to verify my contractor status is frustrating. Despite being a registered contractor for over 50 years, they refuse to accept my proof. They are quick to issue fines, but my evidence is dismissed. What more can I do besides moving my vehicle every two hours?
I wanted to share a positive experience. While trying to park my car in Cardiff, I encountered two traffic wardens who were incredibly helpful. They went out of their way to assist me, even though the parking situation was tricky. I never expected to say this about traffic wardens, but they truly are assets to the service.
