I had a very disappointing experience today at the local branch. My 10-year-old daughter entered the store to buy a card and a bar of chocolate for her teacher's birthday. She selected her items and tried to pay with a £20 note she received as a gift from her grandad. However, the staff member checked it with a machine and claimed it was counterfeit, refusing to accept it. Another staff member, who seemed to be a manager, echoed this accusation. My daughter, in tears and confused about why her gift money was rejected, left the store upset. We then went to another shop nearby where we had no issues purchasing the same items at a lower price. This treatment is unacceptable, especially towards a young child trying to do something thoughtful. I feel this reflects poorly on the customer service provided. Needless to say, I will not return to any of your branches and will share my daughter's unfortunate experience on social media.
