I completed this 10-week course as part of my transition from hardware Quality Assurance to manual software QA testing, and it significantly contributed to my successful shift. Having previously worked in highly regulated sectors like nuclear, aerospace, and defense, I built a solid foundation in quality. However, I found it challenging to secure remote positions in these fields. Thus, I chose to move into software QA for greater flexibility and long-term prospects. I began the course at the end of July and landed a software QA role by December. Besides the technical training, the coaching aspect was invaluable. The guidance on resumes, interviews, and how to showcase my background for software positions was transformative. The interview coaching enabled me to articulate my experience clearly, respond to questions confidently, and grasp what hiring managers seek in QA candidates. The course emphasized practical, real-world manual testing skills and assisted me in adapting my existing quality experience to software tools, terminology, and workflows. While my strong quality background accelerated my progress, the structure, coaching, and accountability were key to my success in interviews and securing a position. Overall, I am extremely thankful for the experience. If you're transitioning from hardware, manufacturing, or another regulated industry into software QA, particularly for a remote role, I highly recommend this course.
