I strongly advise avoiding Carol Nash Insurance. I have had a car insured with them for 11 months and I called to let them know I needed to cancel the policy ahead of the renewal date next month, as I had purchased another car. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes before being told I would be charged a £55 administration fee, bearing in mind I had already settled my last direct debit fee. When I asked for a breakdown of the fee, I was just told that it is a standard fee and not given a clear explanation. I wasted 18 minutes in total on the call for what I expected to be a simple process and to add insult, charged £55.
I purchased a motorbike policy to start right away, but due to a recent minor claim for a scratch on a car from a different policy, they informed me there would be an additional £90 for an undeclared claim. I decided to cancel the policy, and for the two hours I held it, they charged a £35 administration fee. Unacceptable.
I requested a quote from an agent who was not very helpful, so I asked to speak to the supervisor. The supervisor's name was difficult to understand, and I was accused of being dishonest. The entire experience was extremely frustrating for what should have been a simple quote!
