For a company with so many glowing 5 star reviews I was shocked by the careless and shoddy workmanship of their fitter on a top priced flooring job. Even more so by the reaction of the manager when I complained, who I thought would be most concerned at reports of their subcontractor spoiling their otherwise good reputation. Strangely the manager couldn't have been less bothered, instead offering to send the same fitter back to address the issues. Having seen the results of said fitters work and unimpressed by his attitude there was no way that was going to happen. So I dug a bit deeper. It turns out Carpetbarn uses FeeFo for its 'reviews'. According to one reviewer of Feefo on Trustpilot "Basically it's a system that allows companies to cherry pick positive reviews and censor any negative ones, which is not credible. Avoid any company using Feefo as they will be lousy enough to rely on a fake review system to bolster their credibility". And not surprisingly any customers who have raised complaints are unlikely to get invited to submit a review anyway. So be warned. Thinking of getting a new floor fitted? Get a recommendation for an independent installer and avoid these out of town superstores - which I should have known all along.
