I ordered my IPAD on the 3/09/19 and to be fair it was delivered just 2 days later, so full 5 star delivery.It came sealed as a New Apple iPad 9.7" (2018) 32GB Wifi - Space GrayWhen I opened the box I found it came with a usb type c charging cable and american adapter inside instead of the lightning usb cable I required for this older model.I immediately emailed smartxdirect and sent photos, proof of posting and returned the incorrect cable.Several emails later back and forth and many promises of a replacement cable plus refund of postage, I still have received nothing from smartxdirect. I keep email reminding them but now not even a reply.Another strange thing I found was that when I registered the device with Apple they said it had already been registered some months before and that it was almost certainly a repacked refurb in Apples eyes.Apple said it would only be warrenteed to 20/07/2020 because it must have been switched and registered originally on the 20/07/2019. Not what I expected to hear.I asked smartxdirect why would this be since this ipad was supposed to be 100% brand new and original?They said "some products required to be switched on and checked they are fully compatible in uk and eu and software installed by manufacturers are upto dated for uk for that suppose we some requires to switch on and activated some units do checks Which is why we add 3 months additional warranty with all products insase if the warranty has been stated during process" This begs the question as to why they didn't ensure it had the correct cable and charger then!The last communication I had with smartxdirect was the 29/09/10 when they said the correct lightening cable had been shipped due for delivery 1/10/19 with an incorrect tracking number!I have emailed them a number of times to chase but they do not even reply now.I didn't want to give them a poor review to be fair but they seem to have gone to ground now and are not communicating. Thank goodness the IPAD works because I would not have trusted retuning it to them under any warrantee should I have needed to.All I can say is beware and truly assess if the saving against local purchase is really worth it???
