We have had an incredibly frustrating experience with Carter Jonas regarding the return of our tenancy deposit. It has now been over TEN WEEKS since we checked out of the property, and despite repeated follow-ups, our DEPOSIT HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED.The agency has raised several unfair claims against our deposit:Window Key: They are demanding £120 from our deposit for a key that you can buy on Amazon for less than £8.Induction Hob Crack: They claim we caused a crack on the hob but have provided no evidence to support this, ignoring the possibility of a product fault. They tried to charge £760 for replacement even though the hob only costs £440.Communal Hallway Damage: Despite having no proof that we caused any damage (and it not even being part of our tenancy agreement), they are trying to deduct over £300 from our deposit for scratches they have not even given us photographs of.
