Installation took half a year, so long that the homeowner passed away before the job could be completed. There were delays and rescheduling on our side as well since the homeowner was disabled and ill, but even taking that into consideration it took from November until August which seems excessive. When the homeowner passed away, I was told it would cost me more to return the unused generator to CDS than it would to make the third of three payments which was over $4000. So in the end, I have lost over half a year of hassles with this to end up with a brand new generator I don't want or need that costs too much for me to return! Now I have to find a way to sell it privately and pay to have it disconnected.
Customer support was slow to respond and I had to continually follow up, check back, etc. The generator had a defective part that had to be corrected. Then recently when the contractor working on my brother's house turned off the power, the generator kicked on but didn't activate any of the house outlets. The stupid thing doesn't even work.
I would love to make CDS atone for all of this but know they will make it an enormous hassle and it won't be worth the time or energy to have to keep dealing with them. I would never recommend CDS to anyone.
