At that time, I paid a premium to ensure future remortgage services would be free. Unfortunately, the service I received this time was extremely disappointing.To start, my advisor failed to show up for our initial appointment, despite it being scheduled weeks in advance. This left me chasing them to reschedule. The issues didn’t end there—I constantly had to follow up for responses throughout the process. When I found a mortgage deal on MoneySuperMarket and shared it with the Censeo advisor, they acknowledged it was available in their system but initially recommended a different option. I had chosen to work with a mortgage advisor to simplify the process, but it turned out to be far more stressful than expected.There were frequent delays, errors in the documents provided (such as confusing Help to Buy with shared ownership), and, most critically, a lack of transparency regarding additional costs and timelines. For example, the mortgage deal I applied for included free legal services, with the understanding that I would cover any non-standard costs. However, when I asked for details about potential fees, my queries went unanswered. Later, I was hit with unexpected solicitor fees, which I reluctantly agreed to pay.After six weeks of effort on my part to provide the necessary documents, the solicitors informed me that due to the Help to Buy scheme, the remortgage process could take up to three months. This crucial information was only disclosed after a significant delay, during which my current lender switched me to an astronomical variable rate of 8.24%. Frustrated and left with no viable options, I ultimately withdrew from the process and accepted an offer from my current lender.My experience with Censeo Financial was a complete waste of time, energy, and money. The advisor failed to provide clear guidance on timelines and costs from the outset, leaving me blindsided by unexpected updates and delays. Given that I paid a premium for their services a few years ago, I feel deeply let down. I would strongly recommend that others look for more competent mortgage advisors elsewhere.
