I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT JOINING…

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT JOINING CENTERWELL STONE MOUNTAIN! They showed me evidence they do not care about a patient as an individual, are incompetent, and have no compassion.I am 73 years young and I was kicked out (“discharged”) from CenterWell Stone Mountain on my third appointment to the facility. Supposedly, although I have Blue Cross and Blue Sheild, I was kicked out just because I did not have Medicare! How is it by my third appointment, it was just discovered?Incompetent business management: I wanted to be a patient of Oak Street Healthcare, but they only accepted Medicare. Since I did not have it, I kept looking for senior healthcare provision. I called CenterWell to inquire if BC and BS insurance was accepted as payment. I was told yes! On my first appointment I was impressed by how clean and organized the place was, respect shown for patient’s time in processing for the doctor’s visit, and the friendliness of the staff. Obviously friendly does not equal competence and compassion. It took my third visit for them to report to me I did not qualify to be their patient because I did not have Medicare. In contacting SSA to enroll in Medicare, I discovered I already had Medicare for years. I did not know enrollment is automatic when you start collecting SSA benefits after age 65. SSA is re-sending me a Medicare card. A call to Medicare is all Centerwell needed to do to verify my Medicare enrollment! We were mutually pleasant in verbal exchanges. How is it a facility that specializes in senior citizens health care did not know that before just kicking me out? … Incompetence!Incompetent clinical management: I requested to get a weight loss Rx GLPI “pill”, not injection. The prescription I got was the Glp1 medication that is exclusively for diabetics, Rybelsus, and cost greater than $900 per month. I am not diabetic so my insurance company would not approve. I made 3 different phone calls on different days to Centerwell to re-explain and request the Glp1 “pill” that is exclusively for weight loss, Wegovy, which is less than $130+ per month covered entirely by insurance. Why is it that Centerwell did not research, even Google information to help me? … Incompetence! No compassion: No contact or reaching out to me. I showed up for my standing scheduled doctor’s appointment. At that appointment they acted like they just discovered I did not have Medicare. I got the you-can-leave-now look. And I left more in disbelief than anger at that point. No attempt was taken by Centerwell to mitigate their damage to me and make sure I got continued treatment somewhere else. As I sat in my car in shock, I called back to get copies of my labs and doctor’s progress notes. When I returned to pick up my records, I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was in a meeting. According to the receptionist the manager knew about what happened to me. No one contacted me!! But I am now under Oak Street Health because it was obvious to me CenterWell is incompetent, did not care about me, and prone to coverups. All of that was a shameful experience I had at CenterWell! Senior Primary Care!
