I signed up to Chapter 25 Book Club on 19th September for £9.99 a month, thinking it was a flexible monthly membership.After missing the first meeting due to illness, I decided the club wasn’t for me and emailed to cancel on 9th October. I was then told I had to continue paying for three months, even though this minimum term wasn’t made clear when I joined.I’ve since learned that the 3-month commitment is buried in the small print, and cancelling apparently isn’t straightforward. The customer service responses were polite but inflexible.Just a heads-up for anyone thinking of joining — make sure you’re happy to pay for three months upfront, as it’s not an easy monthly cancel-anytime subscription.Personally, I wouldn’t join again because the terms weren’t made clear at sign-up.
