The mortgage broker was excellent, taking a lot of trouble in finding a good mortgage for me. When things got difficult she supported and guided me through it. However, the conveyencing department of John Charcol was incompetent, first recommending a solicitor who didn't work with the recommended mortgage provider, and then another which delayed and didn't respond until a crucial repayment deadline was missed. John Charcol's conveyencing staff were useless in sorting this out, and reluctant to recompense me for my financial loss. Finally, proper recompense to me was agreed. Overall, a very bad experience.
