I purchased an excursion package to Tepoztlán with Uriel and it was an unforgettable experience! Uriel is funny, respectful, patient, and a great teacher overall. When he picked me up in the morning, he asked me to only speak in Spanish which really gave me a boost of confidence to practice what I'd learned in class. The day trip was incredible; Tepoztlán is a beautiful mountainside town just outside of Mexico City. We got breakfast at a food market there and, with Uriel's help, I was able to order my sope and all the toppings I wanted in Spanish. Afterwards, we hiked up the hills to a beautiful Aztec pyramid, all the while talking about food, culture, and life in Mexico, all in Spanish! Uriel made me feel comfortable enough to not shy away from making mistakes (all of which he gently and patiently corrected); and he even taught me some fun Mexican slang! If you're going to visit Mexico City, I highly recommend buying an excursion package from ChidoLingo. No class or book beats learning Spanish through immersion accompanied by a great teacher like Uriel.
