Our Maytag Front Load Washer Maxima (MHW6000XW2), which was purchased about 10 years ago and was functioning well, suddenly stopped working. Water will not fill and the door remains locked. After researching the error code, (F01 E02 on display) on the internet, I discovered the problem was most likely the motor control unit not communicating well with the washer. I am not an expert on computer, and I am quite a novice when it comes to repairing anything mechanical.By clicking the circuit board medics you tube video on replacing the motor unit, it appeared that I may be able to accomplish the task. The video was quite instructive in how to remove the rear panel and disconnect the wiring capsules to the motor unit compartment. There were other videos of the same, but the circuit board medics one was really crystal clear. I could tell they spent time and efforts in producing this video.Ordering the motor unit on the website was fairly easy, and the exchange program was a nice touch in that I received a furbished unit first, which I was able to install, and sent the broken core back to circuit board medics. This way, I did not have to wait for my unit to be repaired. I ordered the unit on Friday and received the unit next Tuesday. You should see how elated my wife was: she had her favorite washer working again after needing to go to local laundromat once unhappily. The washer ends up being out of commission for only 5 days. You know the phrase, happy wife, happy marriage. The price on the unit was about 50% of what a new unit would have been, and since I was able to fix it myself, I did not have to pay a repair person several hundred dollars. Overall, I was extremely satisfied how it turned out.
