I was a bit skeptical about using these guys but as it turned out I was in a situation where my choices were bad and worse. I have a 30" Jenn-Air gas built-in oven that I had trouble finding 20 years ago when I put it in and now they are more scarce than hens teeth. Literally!So it started to display the dreaded F-1 error and would not consistently heat up to programmed temperature.After considering my two options:Bad: Replace the 30" gas oven with a 24" which aside from being 20% smaller, it would require an unsightly modification to my cabinets.Worse: Replace the gas oven with an electric. That would require running a dedicated 220V. line to the unit (very costly) plus much less efficiency than gas. So with those very two poor options I decided to spend the $220 plus shipping and give Circuit Board Medics a chance.It turned out to be a very good decision indeed. I pulled the board and sent it in. I wasn't in a big hurry and to save a few bucks I decided on ground transportation (Fedex is their shipper of choice so ok). In hindsight I should've ponied up the extra for overnight (more on that later). So when they received it, eight days later, I was quickly advised via email that they had indeed received my unit.The following day I received a phone call from Drew. After spending several minutes with me explaining that they could not replicate my problems, but also that it may be due to the fact that I did not send in the touchpad portion of the control (which I had no idea I should have) and he gave me additional options to either send in the touchpad or he would reduce the charge to a test only ($40) and return the unit to me with no repair. Although unsettling, since they could not identify the problem, I decided to go ahead and send them the touchpad for further testing.Drew sent me a prepaid shipping label via email within minutes and never asked or mentioned additional cost for that. Fantastic customer service right there that you simply don't see in this day and age. It was another 8 days however for Fedex to get this from So. Cal. to South Carolina. But oh well. Drew again called me the morning after receiving the touch pad to tell me once again that they had performed approximately 7 hours of testing and again, could not duplicate the F-1 fault and again asked me if I wanted to continue with the replacement of the usual wear components (larger capacitors and relays) or they could send the entire assy. back to me and charge me only for testing of $40.Since I felt I had no option at this point I asked him to perform the replacement of the common wear components and he said he would also fix a couple of solder joints that had microscopic fractures but were unlikley the cause of my problem.Along with the agreed repair I also asked him to upgrade the shipping to next day which he did and literally 24 hours later I had the unit handed to me by the Fedex driver. It took me a couple of days to get it installed but it's been in for three days now and we've used the oven several times and so far, no faults. The oven is getting up to temperature quickly and fingers crossed it will provide another several years of use. They also sent a 2 year warranty so if we should happen to have this issue again I suppose I will call them and go through the process again but with the components they've already replaced I'm hopeful we won't see this issue again for a long while.
