Save yourself a headache and DO NOT deal with this awful, nasty, rude manager. We paid the best part of £1,000 (£850) to have a stairs carpet fitted including fix of two broken boards, called the following day to discuss a problem – boards not fixed properly so carpet is loose. Oliver Nowell jumped down my throat and was incredibly rude, left me shaking with upset and shock. He refused to even send anyone to look at the terrible job done in the name of his company. We had been into the store twice to discuss our job, mentioned the fix of the broken floorboard both times and he had even seen it on site when measuring. We agreed to a total price which he happily offered, there was no negotiation on our part, which he later described as “beating him down on price” – I wouldn’t have a clue how to do that, we simply repeated the price he offered in September. He was free to offer whatever total price he saw fit, which we would have either accepted or declined. The marked prices are meaningless, he just kept plucking numbers from the air and lowering the total price.In response to a bad review on Google he publicly disclosed my full name and home address, as well as hurtful, untrue accusations, as intimidation and harassment to remove my review. An illegal breach of GDPR (reportedTo the Information Commissioner’s Office) and a nasty way to treat a customer. Mess left in every room of the house. Door removed and reattached so badly it now does not close - fitters charged £25 and said we would need to get someone else to rectify it, or pay again! Asked for £25 cash, we did bank transfer, no receipt given. Rushed work - edges are badly cut and fraying. Oliver Nowell said I would have to pay someone else to fix the problems and mess left, and trying to fix the problem will ruin the carpet irreparably.Horrendous attitude. Very rude. Zero customer service. Shoddy workmanship with no recourse to fix it.Unsigned accounts on Companies House show the business is heavily loss-making, and the never-ending begging sales in the window display make me come to the conclusion that Mr Nowell’s business is on the rocks again. Your money is not safe with this company. I wish I had checked the other 1* Google and Trustpilot reviews because they all refer to the unpleasant manager and terrible service when the work is delivered to a bad standard. The 5* reviews must be from people who are lucky enough to order online and not interact with this horrible man.
