Wow - what a great experience - our Classic Holidays Nile Cruise was amazing. We chose the International Hotel Seramis was a fabulous start to our holiday. A large well set up hotel right by the Nile and overlooking the Cairo Museum and Tahriir Square. The trip to the Pyramids was one of the main reasons for this holiday and they did not disappoint. Next on to Luxor and the Cruise on the MS Esadora, this boat is well equipped and has very friendly staff and the food was plentiful and quite varied. There are “posher” boats on the Nile I am sure - but we were very happy with the Esadora. There were excursions included on the trip which were well organised and always running on time, there were also a good choice of optional additional trips which again were well organised and very interesting, (some very early mornings though !) LOL One thought is we could have spent longer at the Valley of the Kings. All things considered the trip was a brilliant way to explore ancient Egypt. Then on to the Red Sea we chose the Cleopatra Hotel Makadi Bay, another wow - this brilliant hotel right on the Red Sea with so many swimming pools was perfect - in fact my wife wished we had allowed more than 4 nights here it was really really good - good food, good facilities, great staff, a great way to wind down after a major trip through this fascinating place. Classic Holidays made all our transfers, trips, experiences & flights work to plan - everything worked on schedule, a credit to Classic Holidays - it all worked like clockwork. Negatives are very few - tummy bug hit during the cruise, several fellow travellers were affected - not at all sure it was contracted on board or not - as some folks were affected before the cruise and some on the last night of the cruise? Optional excursions are payable in cash - a minor inconvenience really - but take a good amount of £GB for this, also it’s difficult to work out how much Egyptian currency to get ? We changed very little really and you do not want a lot of local currency when you leave it’s difficult to change back.
