Misleading pricing/membership

I’ve generally been happy with this service in the past, but my recent experience was disappointing and stressful. I’m a disabled veteran and need help with things sometimes, so I thought this service would make a difference. When I ordered this time, the order came out to about $70. The order page said that if I paid the $10 membership fee, the order cost would be reduced (I can’t recall exactly, I think to about $45-$50). It said this on the order page, so I clicked the button and paid the $10. The order amount didn’t change though - it remained at the original amount of about $70. So they wanted me to pay the $10 fee *and* the original $70 order amount. I texted customer service and they coldly replied that the price would not be adjusted. They blamed me, saying that I had failed to renew my membership previously and that I needed to pay my bills to keep services, essentially claiming that “this is how things work with such services” (except any other site or app I’ve ever used that claims that a membership fee will reduce the price actually honors their word once the fee is paid, such as Gopuff, Walmart, Amazon, Kroger, etc.). They did not want to acknowledge that the wording on their website was misleading, and instead kept blaming me. I’m not the one that made that claim and put the button on their website. It’s very disappointing that they would not honor the pricing they advertised. And even worse is that this is at a time when I thought I had found a helpful service that I could trust, when life, health, stress and finances are already hard as it is. The heart of the matter remains though: their website promised that paying the membership fee would reduce the cost of my order. It did not. I’m leaving this review to warn potential customers about misleading pricing and combative customer service. Also to note: The tracker on the website isn’t updated. It’ll show that the order is still at the cleaners rather than on the way. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying when it’s 10:00 pm at night and you’re waiting up for a late delivery. And with this order, the first one didn’t process although I did schedule it. I was waiting for the pickup and realized nobody was coming, so had to go place another pickup order. So the site itself is a bit glitchy and outdated. ETA re: their response: Thank you for your reply. I understand your policy regarding active memberships. My concern, as I stated, is that your website wording suggested that paying the membership fee would immediately reduce my order cost, which it did not. I stand by my review.
