I have been referred to these both by my general practitioner and via the ambulance service. The first time I was referred things were going okay. However I found the talks to be rather patronising. A couple of weeks in to home treatment I had a male mental health nurse come to my home and he was asking sexual questions that were inappropriate. I reported him to the manager of the trust and she came out to my property and wrote a statement. However I have never heard anything back from this extremely serious matter. When I was then referred by ambulance service they failed to make any contact with meWhen I feel as though I am going in to crisis I was told to phone these but every time I do they ask what’s the reason your calling what help to do you want and it makes me feel like my reasons aren’t good enough because they belittle you and can even sometimes make your situation worse for you.I think this could be a great service but unfortunately it’s not patient first with some of these people. Some staff however have treated me how I intend they should but unfortunately it’s the bad staff that make this worse.I believe that in a few years time or maybe a decade there will be scandals about the behaviour of some of their staff. Sexually harassing someone who is in a mental health crisis is beyond shocking but unfortunately it does happen.
