I received a letter from a Co-op Legal Services case handler informing me that I was a beneficiary in my aunt's will. I was asked for details and was told that it would take 12 months. There was a contact e-mail for help. I sent the requested details by post. There was no confirmation. After one year I sent an polite e-mail to ask for an update. There was no reply. I contacted complaints who said they did not provide "regular updates" They CC'd a new case handler who had taken over the case. I said that I should have been informed of the handover. The new case handler blamed the executor for not updating me. I do not know who the executor is and am not sure if I would be comfortable with them being given my contact info. Furthermore, the introductory letter had made it very clear that my communications would be with the Co-op and the executor was not mentioned. The Co-op Legal Services were not apologetic for their oversight and tried to make me feel like an awkward customer.
