Seriously pointless

Seriously, what is the point of Collect+? The idea sounds great, a single location to return all products bought online regardless of who from. Yet this isn't the reality. Some locations accept Yodel, some don't (for example). So, when a retailer says 'Find your local Collect+ drop off point".. What they really mean is, "Find your local Collect+ drop off point that accepts our parcels, as your local newsagent may not actually accept them"..So, what is the point? Why would I go to Collect+ , to only then have to search for a specific drop off location that accepts a certain delivery company? Why wouldn't I just search Yodel in the first place and miss off the pointless middle-ware that just adds an extra layer of obscurity and confusion? If you buy from Nike.com, for example, process a return it only mentions Collect+.. In big, massive bold lettering "COLLECT+" it boasts. "return your items conveninently in any one of thousands of Collect+ locations"... Hardly any mention of Yodel (I did find a mention on the form once printed, but it is tiny font and mentions nothing that "you need to search for Yodel drop off within Collect+". But nowhere does it state "Yodel is only available in a few Collect+ Drop Off locations".So, you generate a return, there's a link to 'find your Collect+ drop off", you click it, it asks for postcode then you're presented with a page full of logos.. Some I've never heard of, there's no 'Nike.com' logo, so as Nike make a massive big deal of using Collect+, there's no mention of 'Yodel' anywhere, and Collect+ make a massive big deal about how convenient they are, you simply click 'search'... And up pops your local newsagent.. Ace.. Until you go there and find out they don't accept Yodel.. What? Isn't Collect+ supposed to be a single drop off point. Why would a company use Collect+, if you can't actually use all Collect+ locations? Makes no sense and so all it does is just add confusion and 'bloat' to what should be a very simple process.Pointless.

Business Details

  • Collect+ is all about the instore experience, we no longer provide end to end parcel services. We are now the entry and exit point for parcels and all queries or comments regarding your parcel journey should be directed to the carrier in the first instance please.

Last year PayPoint acquired Yodel’s 50% stake in Collect+ making it the sole owner of the UK’s largest parcel shop network working with a range of partners: Amazon, DHL, eBay, FedEx, Parcel2Go and Yodel. The Collect+ brand is going through some operational changes which will be of benefit to our customers and our retailers. Any parcel queries from before 1 October 2020 should be referred to Yodel.

The Collect+ store network is made up of 10,000 newsagents, convenience stores, supermarkets and petrol stations, so wherever you are, there’s a good chance that a Collect+ Point is nearby. The majority of Collect+ Points are open 7-days a week, early ’til late, so collecting and sending parcels is easy and convenient.See more
