We are concerned by the seemingly aggressive tactics used by Copytrack who represent Concept Productions. After we complied with an initial request by providing a valid licence (13th November 2025), CopyTrack then targeted a second image on 19th January 2026 on a different website (attributed to Monkey Business) using automated emails via Zendesk. We found the image owner to be uncontactable and have informed Copytrack that we are neither obligated nor resourced to keep performing their due diligence for them.Despite our explanation, we and our clients are now receiving generic "demand" letters approximately every 48 hours. These letters aren't even addressed to us by name, yet they demand hundreds of euros in compensation for images originally purchased for around £5. Copytrack seems to consistently fail to provide essential details—such as specific Image IDs or verifiable proof of ownership—making it incredibly difficult and costly to trace licences within our library of over 1,000 images. It appears these companies prioritise "shakedown" volume over legitimate copyright enforcement, effectively holding licensees hostage by forcing them to search through years of records to prove their innocence against vague, unsubstantiated claims.A quick search confirmed this pattern of automated pressure appears to be a standard tactic for them. We strongly advise others to demand full legal proof of ownership and specific image data before engaging with these demands.
