When I first started working with Anthony and Paul, my goal was to start an Independent Film Company where I live, which is northern Michigan. I worked in the theatre in New York City studying with Stella Adler, a founding member of the Group Theatre in the 1930's. She led me to Robert Lewis, a fellow founding member, who was starting his own company to replicate the Group. I was exposed to a host of directors and actors I never imagined I'd meet at 23 years old. I even got to hang out with Brando, which led to Elia Kazan, another member of the Group and two-time Oscar winner for directing. Eventually, Kazan prompted me to go to Los Angeles and write, which I did. Film became my life, and given the contacts I cultivated, I thought my knowledge base was rather strong. Fast forward to 2026 and turning 70 years old. ENTER Anthony Gallo and Paul Xavier. I was aware one could make a film with an iPhone, but still thought it was like filming one's family at a Christmas party. But I had absolutely no idea of the vicissitudes of video creation. They exposed a vast arena of which I had no idea existed. Some folks where I live thought it rather nuts to start a film company where I live. Anthony and Paul completely altered those apprehensions. They are extraordinary teachers with pedagogical skills that rival any I met and worked with in New York and L.A. With that, their aptitude and knowledge of working with my iPhone is staggering. With that, they bring to the table a depth of knowledge as concerns lighting, depth of field, and spatial structure, et al. They also provide information about lenses that are adaptable for my iPhone that enhance one's capacity to enhance one's equipment in a highly professional manner. I would be vastly remiss to not include the capacity to make money incorporating their full measure of being content creators for YouTube. One can read all the statistics they provide about the potential of cultivating a lucrative career by being a YouTuber. As you likely infer, that means cultivating original ideas that will sell, compounded by making one's own video creation for clients who want the best representation for their product. To generate the best representation, one needs to work with great mentors. As someone who worked with the teachers of Meryl Streep, Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Sigourney Weaver etc., if you want to work with mentors who will provide the best knowledge and application, you need look no further! Their knowledge is also highly compounded by an extraordinary excitement and a bristling enthusiasm that provides students with nothing short of a contagious desire to replicate their knowledge and application.
