I had an unfortunate experience with Copart. My car was repoed due to a parking issue. My daughter is in the Navy and was on an underway and she left her car at her PPV (military housing), someone stole the sticker off the tag and the apartments put a 72 hour notice on it. It was towed and the tow yard called the lien holder and the lien holder decided to have Copart repo the car to protect their lien. Mind you, the car was not past due, never has been. They tried contacting me one time. That's it, that's all. Copart picked the car up from the tow yard after 10 days. I have pictures from the original tower, nothing wrong with the vehicle. I have pictures from Coparts tow truck driver, nothing wrong with the vehicle. I contacted Copart after taking care of the paperwork with the lien holder and Copart acted like they didn't know where the vehicle was, and I kept trying to make an appt to pick up the vehicle and they kept giving me the run around. Finally I spoke with one person with some sense, Richard. He was the only one who gave me semi-straight up information. I sent my son-in-law to get the truck, when he got to the location, they acted like they couldn't find the truck for 2 hours. They then bring the truck around on a tow truck. The front driver side bumper is hanging off, there's a crack in the grill, and a big scratch on the driver side. My son-in-law calls me, and tell me so I call the GM Ryan. This guy is a joke, it sounds like the whole place is having a party in the background, I'm upset, I'm trying to talk to him, and ask him how can I file a claim, and he proceeds to tell me that I'm not getting sh*t from him and to go online and figure it out myself. My son-in-law calls me right back and says Ryan yelled at him and kicks him out and says he's not welcomed there. Mind you, my son-in-law is also a service member in the Navy. What a way to treat the people who protect you and I. My son-in-law gets in the vehicle and proceeds to pull off, the vehicle starts over-heating. The vehicle has never had any mechanical issues in the past but all of a sudden, it's over-heating. I tried to call Ryan back, once on the line I told him I was coming down there, he said you're not welcomed here and I will call the police on you if you come. I told him that's fine, but I'm coming. The whole situation was horrible, and instead of being professional and trying to calm the situation, they made it 1000x worse then it had to be. Now I'm in the process of filing a claim with the lien holder against Copart and I hope they have to pay the maximum for the repairs. I also hope that someone at Copart sees thru Ryan's BS, and gets rid of him. He is the most rude, obnoxious, disrespectful GM I have ever dealt with. He is in no way qualified for that job. He works at the Copart in Hampton at 16 Meadows Drive. I hope someone sees this post and does something about it.
