Côte has been our go-to local restaurant for years, but after our recent experience with the Manager, we will not be returning to this branch. We visited with friends from Spain and had a wonderful meal, served by friendly and understanding staff. However, the evening took an upsetting turn when the Manager arrived to take our dessert order. One person in our group is neurodivergent and struggles with making quick decisions. Instead of showing patience or understanding, the Manager stood over our table impatiently for at least five minutes, creating unnecessary pressure for her.He then accused her of being "drunk" and refused to serve us further. This was not only completely unfounded but also deeply insulting and ruined our whole experience. Thankfully, the individual in question did not understand English, sparing her from the embarrassment. We did try and tactfully reason with the Manager but he was adamant she was drunk. At that point, we asked for the bill—over £200 btw—and left, disgusted by his ignorance and lack of professionalism.Writing this complaint to highlight the importance of staff training in neurodiversity awareness and to ensure no other customer experiences such dismissive and inappropriate treatment.Contacted Cote about this issue with no reply.
