We have been regular and very satisfied visitors to Cote for more than a decade. After a very disappointing experience at the Kingston restaurant the last time we visited we decided to give them another chance. Things went well to start. Good table and attentive staff. However, our main meal took a long time to appear which we put down to a lunchtime rush. The food was acceptable but no better. We waited a long time waiting for our plates to be cleared with no sign of service despite many staff and a manager regularly passing our table. Eventually I asked a manager if we could order dessert. He said ‘of course’ but nothing happened. I asked the same manager again and appeared to be ignored. I found the restaurant manager, explained our dissatisfaction and asked for the bill. To her credit she took responsibility, apologised and said they would learn from our experience. She also waived the bill for our incomplete meal. It’s a pity she had to do so and that her colleague manager was not more ‘on the ball’. No cheery greetings on the way out! Twice bitten and all that …. we won’t be back.
