Bought a pair of walking shoes and was offered a two year warranty which I accepted. After 18 months and not a huge amount of use I began to feel that the soles no longer protected my feet. Walking over stones felt like, well walking over stones, painful and had to buy an another pair to finish a walking holiday. I had no other problems with the new pair (not from Cotswolds!) I have other walking boots, much older and more used and I don’t have the same issue, in short it was the shoes not my feet!So I returned them to Cotswolds in Norwich and was met with a very indifferent attitude and little interest in my complaint. He simply said we will send them away to the manufacturers for assessment. I replied (politely) that my contract was with Cotswold not the manufacturers. This was met with ‘company policy’ and it would take a month! No customer care or legal obligations so far….It would seem that they mark their own homework and not surprisingly rejected my complaint. I have not received a report from the assessment as per their or an explanation why they (in contract terms) have not honoured their so called warranty. Nor was I asked to explain what was wrong with them. Sadly it would seem that their warranty has little value and their customer service as a reputable company even less.So Cotswolds time to put this right and not hide behind the skirts of a manufacturer who are not independent. As a result you have lost more than one customer!
