I ordered a dozen Crab Cakes and a dozen Soft-Shell Crabs from Crab Dynasty. They arrived in good order and on time on a two-day delivery schedule from Maryland to Tennessee. The dry ice had evaporated but the gel packs were still frozen, and the product was very cold and even still partially frozen. The product was shipped in 4 vacuum packed plastic pouches. One pouch of Crab-Cakes was sealed but not vacuum packed and they did not taste the same as the vacuum packed pouch. I am a former 40 year resident of Annapolis MD now living in TN. so I know good Crab Cakes and my favorite Soft-Shell Crab. Before ordering I called the company and spoke with a representative about how their Crab Cakes were made. I was told their Crab Cakes were made with lump and jumbo lump crab meat in a 2/1 ratio with minimal filler and seasoned with Old Bay. The Crab Cakes tasted okay but I could not find any jumbo lump crab meat and not much lump meat. As mentioned earlier there was a significant difference in taste between the vacuum sealed pouch and the non-vacuum sealed pouch. The latter was very hot and spicy. The real disappointment was the Soft-Shell crabs. Soft-Shells are my favorite and I have been eating them for forty years so I know what a good Soft-Shell should be. They were the WORST I have ever tasted. I like mine lightly flowered and saluted in butter. I tried cooking several and could not eat any of them. The outside was tough and leathery, and the inside was mush. They were just uneatable. It's a good thing I tried them before serving them to guests we were having for dinner the following day. I think the company needs to do a much better job of quality control of their product.
