I ordered 1/2 bushel of jumbo male hard crabs and 1lb of jumbo king crab legs. They arrived in good condition as the ice packs appear to have kept the crabs cold enough to prevent spoilage. However, some of the claws, not the main body of the crabs, were spoiled. When I smell ammonia, that's a no-no and that can make one sick. We've discovered about 9 or so like this so far, but the main body is edible. I believe some of these crabs were older in the inventory to begin with, hence the sale prices. While I appreciate a sale like most folk, I simply can't afford to waste money. I've ordered in previous years and had the same issue. While the company took care of me making it right, I just wasn't expecting any spoilage again. Maybe next time, if I decide to go with this company, I'll order live crabs instead, in hopes that this doesn't happen. Again, the crabs were packaged well, so that tells me that the inventory was an older batch. Otherwise, Crab Dynasty has pretty decent blue shell crabs and king crab legs. I hope there is a resolve for this issue soon. Maybe customers who purchase online from afar, ought to be given fresher batches. Even the locals should have fresh of course, but time for spoilage of older batches is lessen, I think.
