Last year we rented a 25' motorhome from Modern Classics in Westland, MI, and just a few weeks ago rented a 30' motorhome, for almost 3 weeks. We had so many issues with this rv. The rear view mirrors shook so hard when driving, I couldn't even see anything in them. I called Modern Classics, and they said bring it back and they would "fix" it. Well, we live 1 hour away, and were getting ready to leave the next day, so we weren't about to waste the time going back. They said "just use some tape on them", which I ended up doing. The hose connector leaked badly, I ended up having to buy a new seal for it.The handle for gray water was broken and leaked. The ground pin was bent on the power cord, making it really hard to hook up and make a proper connection. The bed was terrible! Not only was it up really high and hard to climb onto, but the mattress (which is covered in thick plastic) was the worst we'd ever slept on, my wife and I woke up each morning achy. The toilet was awful! It's up very high on a platform, so unless you are very tall, is VERY hard to use! One of the lights in the bathroom was broken. I couldn't just replace the bulb since it was hardwired. We both wear contacts and could barely see to put them in, or even see to brush our teeth. The weather stripping on main door was coming out on bottom (same as the rv last year). The compartments below were filthy, as was the floor at driver and passenger seats.
EVERYTHING on this rig is made very cheaply. There's not even a backup monitor, and the thermostat is hard to set, it's either "up" or "down". In the cab, there's no "recycle air" feature, so you smell terrible exhaust when driving. A real saftely hazzard is the location of the gas stove. The dinette is up against the stove, and anyone sitting there is just an inch or so away from an open flame when the stove is in use. There should be a barrier there, at the very least! Modern Classics does not maintain their rvs well at all. And they are just really cheaply made. Will NEVER rent one of these again! The real kicker is how they nickle and dime EVERYTHING. They even charge you if you want to park your car on there.
