Machines not starting but being charged for a load has happened to me before, and when I complained for a month and finally they refunded me for it. BUT, the entire system is a scam. You need to add money in the app "wallet" to be able to use it, and they have recently started enforcing a minimum 5$ transfer from credit card, and a penalty fee for any amount less than 10$. When I was about to move out of student housing, I still had money in my wallet and there was no way to take it back. If I wanted to do a major load of laundry just to use that balance, I'd still have to transfer another 5$ to cover the last 0.75 amount. There's no way to get your money back, why can't they just let people pay from their card every time?!
