My husband and I have taken quite a few trips with CDV, starting back in 2007 when the company was just starting up. If you want to go to all the tourist places and fight the crowds, maybe CDV isn't for you. If you want to connect with the people, feel like part of the place you are visiting, immerse in their local world, make friends (and more like family) for life, then you will love CDV. We have made life-long friends (and family) on their trips. You can go night fishing on a small local boat, go to the neighbors to make your own pizza in their backyard pizza oven, swim in hidden coves with NO tourists there. You will eat at new friends' tables and help them herd cattle, doctor the sheep, and eat more steak than you thought existed in the world. You will help prepare meals side by side with them. It is more than a "tour" - it is a life experience. You will never want to go on a traditional "tour" again.
