CurlSmith’s new “Bouncy Volume” protein foam is disappointing. It comes out like runny, soapy water. No matter how much I shake the bottle, the product still dispenses like water. Every once in a blue moon, I get a slight puff of actual foam, but it's too much work for too little payoff. My Innersense foam, which has protein, works perfectly every time, so I will stick with that. I politely notified CurlSmith of the problem, but the rep. (Lucy) kind of blew me off twice and told me to keep shaking the bottle. After I left a negative review, she contacted me to say she would send a new pump, but it has been four weeks, and nothing has arrived. CurlSmith also did not publish the negative review, even though it was polite and acknowledged CurlSmith's general fabulousness. That is dishonest. A company that curates reviews lacks integrity. I also noticed that there are only positive reviews on all the products on the CurlSmith Website. Now I know why. I really wanted to love this foam, and when it actually comes out as foam (rare), it works, but it's inconsistent. Innersense has a smaller foam bottle, but the quality there is outstanding and is very consistent. This experience has been off-putting. In addition, CurlSmith’s actions are antithetical to their use of Scripture on the products. Even though I have literally spent hundreds of dollars buying CurlSmith products for family and friends, they will no longer be on my shopping list. Innersense, Ecoslay, and Bounce Curl will remain my go-to companies.
