I purchased a significant amount of yarn (spent about $180) in two colors a couple years ago and let it sit in my stash for a while before planning a project to use it. When I went to make sure the dye was set, a first rinse indicated it wasn’t. After around the eighth round of soaking and rinsing, I contacted DGY for help or a refund. Customer service took a FULL WEEK to respond to one email every single time I responded to them. In the weeks that I waited I did 20+ rounds of soaking and rinsing, even trying other methods like vinegar, baking the yarn, and the gentle cycle on the washing machine with a color catcher, but the water was still just as vibrant as the first wash. Eventually, after several weeks of trying to get a refund on this yarn I was told that because it falls out of the return window there was nothing the company could do. I understand policies are policies, but spending $180 on yarn is not something I do unless I think I’m receiving a finished product, which this was most definitely not. To “make up for it,” DGY sent me a $20 gift card code, which is an absolute slap in the face. It doesn’t even begin to cover the hours of labor I put in to trying to make THEIR PRODUCT usable, never mind the fact that I don’t want any more of their unfinished product anyway. Now, I’m stuck with an absurd amount of yarn that can’t be used and nothing to compensate for it. My advice is to buy your yarn literally anywhere else, and test it immediately if you do buy from this low integrity company.
