I was given a yarn of the month subscription as a (very thoughtful) gift. The company pitches this as a chance to receive a different yarn every month along with a free gift. I'm now in the fifth month and have received the same yarn every month in a (slightly) different colour way each time. The 'gifts' barely make it to Christmas cracker quality. This month was a plastic ring in the shape of a peacock? Phoenix? Nothing to do with crafts and your average 10 year old would find it challenging to raise enthusiasm for it.But what is worse is when I raised the question of the identical (slight colour variation aside) yarns being sent every month I got such a defensive email from the company. They didn't address the fact that the yarns were the same, ignored the free gift criticism and suggested that if I were to warn friends off this purchase I should refer them instead to their company! Yeah right, because I'm that stupid! Anyway, until they get better at what they claim to be doing, I'd steer clear. Meanwhile my kind friend has cancelled my subscription at my request.
