Slap-Dash

Slap-DashI would like to first make it clear that I have fully read the Trustpilot Guidelines for Reviewers to ensure my comments comply with those guidelines. Please also be assured, that, despite the response from Dash, my claims are supported by written evidence, which has been presented to and accepted by Trustpilot.Accordingly, and unlike the directors of Dash, these comments are honest and are aimed at providing a fact based review, with constructive advice for anyone considering entering into a contract with Dash Media Productions. These comments are intended to serve two purposes. The first is to alert potential clients about the risks of dealing with what is termed, legally as a “Phoenix Company,” specifically Dash Media Productions, formerly known as Dash Media. Both companies have the same senior management structure, with both directors in place. The company's office and email addresses are exactly the same as before. For some time, the principal director and his management team have been responsible for financial disasters, owing clients who hold the status of being creditors, tens of thousands of pounds due to contracts not been delivered in good time. In addition, my company's experiences left ourselves strongly suspecting that Dash Media knowingly accepted contracts beyond their expertise. As the result of a receiving a woeful attempt to fulfil their contract, my company, pursued legal action against Dash Media Productions for the reasons mentioned above. (Also see point 1 to 5 raised below.) Yet, despite several warnings and a wealth of evidence, from our solicitors to Dash, the management's response was also woeful and evasive. Initially, our contract was supposed to have been completed in three months. Additional work, contracted by Cad3nce, extended this deadline to six months. However, even after eighteen months, completion of the work was nowhere in sight, leaving us with no choice but to take legal action.Consequently, Dash’s responses gave our solicitors no option than to initiate County Court proceedings to recover nearly £30,000 for incomplete work. This excludes projected sales profits of an estimated £500,000, (verified by chartered accountants) caused by the incompetence of Dash’s management, on the launch of the new company into its marketplace.Earlier this year, just prior to taking Dash to court, we discovered that the company had gone into receivership, owing HMRC approximately £300,000. Cad3nce and other clients, that had made proforma payments for incomplete work, were creditors. Despite their duty of responsibility to these clients as creditors, the Dash management did not inform creditors about the liquidation. Instead, they hid behind the minimum requirement of the law by informing Companies House and another placing a small notice, buried among the pages of The London Telegraph. I dare say that not everyone is a regular subscriber to this paper…During our legal preparations, we gathered extensive evidence, including written communication with the principal director. Additionally, I have written a lengthy, written, transcription with a former Dash employee. This interview reveals a chaotic management and deplorable treatment by the principal director to the company’s clients. This collected evidence, from both my own company’s experience and other companies, highlights a clear pattern of behaviour experienced by multiple companies:1. Initial enthusiasm and eagerness towards clients and their projects.2. Plausible and persuasive excuses when progress slows down.3. Failure to complete contracts in good time, despite extended deadlines.4. Clients are eventually left with no choice but to abandon projects entirely, or seek more professional companies to carry out the work.5. Requests for refunds are met with refusal or negotiations leading to severely reduced payments, staggered over a period of time.We have invoices, payment documentation, and written communication evidence to support all of these claims. The second purpose of this review is to reach out to other companies that have had similar experiences with either of the companies run by the same directors. Our investigations reveal that many companies have suffered due to their business practices, resulting in them being collectively owed well in excess of a hundred thousand pounds. We are amassing a dossier of evidence and invite other affected companies to contact us in confidence to discuss their experiences and consider further action.Gary Atkinson - Managing Director.
