I engaged this service in September 2020 for a house purchase. The process involved some back and forth, and while the experience wasn't exceptional, it was somewhat standard. As it was my first home purchase and my initial interactions with a conveyancer, I didn't mind the basic service provided. However, over the past four years, I've come to understand the necessary service standards and expectations. In August 2025, while seeking changes with a lender, it became apparent that our new build property lacked its NHBC certification, meaning we wouldn't be covered for any structural issues. Upon contacting the NHBC, I learned that the service was responsible for this oversight. I filed a complaint, as this jeopardized my mortgage process and required me to activate a policy I had already paid over £2k for. Dealing with their complaints team has been frustrating, especially with a representative who has been condescending in emails despite acknowledging their error. I am now escalating this complaint to the ombudsman and will be sharing the email correspondence with the firm's partners to question if this is the level of service they endorse.
