My eldest wanted his name changed for his 18th birthday and my friend recommended going through Deed Poll as her sister had used them in the past. I found the site straight forward to use. I did initially expect to pay £36. I didn’t realise you would need additional documents as some organisations/banks like to keep originals ect. Obviously you have to pay extra for those and I did decide to use their archive service (again that’s another fee) but it’s all clearly explained and priced plus you don’t have to add it if you don’t want to. I thought customer service was quite helpful too. I messaged them before purchasing to double check a few things over. And again when I was waiting for delivery and they replied straight away with answers. My reason for 4 stars is purely on the time it’s taken to receive the documents. I think they need to be more clear on process/delivery time. I picked standard delivery as I was in no rush which on the site says 2-4 working days. I ordered on Thursday 17th so expected to receive them latest by Wednesday 23rd. When I still hadn’t received them by Thursday I had a look on their Q&A page and it said it takes 2 days to process the paperwork, so I presumed I hadn’t received them because I needed to add the extra 2 days to the delivery time (which would make it Friday 25th latest) I got a little worried when I still hadn’t received them by Saturday, so dropped them an e-mail and they replied straight away saying, I had pick standard delivery which takes 4 working days and that they where in the post and I would receive it early next week. They finally arrived on Tuesday 29th. 12 days after ordering (8 working days) Like I said I wasn’t in a rush to receive them but for peace of mind it would have been nice to know a realistic timeline or estimate delivery date. Or maybe drop an e-mail when the documents are dispatched. Over all I was happy with the service and would recommend to others. Edit : Reply to DeedpollJust an e-mail saying your order has been processed and dispatched and should be with you in 2-4 days would be sufficient. You could also e-mail if there’s a delay saying apologies due to high volumes your order has been delayed and we’ll update you when it’s dispatched. But I feel you wouldn’t need to do the delayed e-mail if you made the process time more clearer on your website. I saw 2-4 days delivery and presumed I would get it within 2-4 days. I only found out about the process time after going through you Q&A page. And I didn’t even know that it could be delayed further if you had a high number of priority orders until you just mentioned it. Making that a little more clearer on the delivery page would help. Like I said I wasn’t in any rush but I did start to worry after a week that it may have been mis-delivered or lost. But I got in touch and you replied straight a way which reassured me.
