I think this will be my last year with Directline after 10 or more years, theres pros and cons. Cons: Having to haggle my insurance down £150-200 each year my renewal comes through really irritates me, the customer online chat is so slow it takes around an hour to get a final renewal quote, which they say "we can't offer anything lower, if youre unhappy with this, then leave us." Basically. So my renewal this year is £70+ more than AXA, Admiral Platinum and 1st Central, this after presenting all of my research! For whatever reason they can't price match. I've stayed with them this year for ease...for a non fault claim that'll be gone by the time I renew again. So the pros, I would say having a non fault accident and how it was dealt with initially was great, quick and I had a hire car to get me back on the road asap. Also I live in Northern Ireland and there was no issues at all getting my car repaired etc CONS: (AGAIN) In the long term it wasn't great as the non fault claim ended up going to Solicitors and the communication on Direct Lines end was non existent. It was actually the Solicitors that reached out to me regarding the claim without any communication from Direct line! After 2 years of this going on, one day I got an email to say that neither parties were pursuing it. This email again was from Solicitors and no contact from Direct Line. Pros: I think their app is great, everything you need access to when involved in an accident is right at your finger tips. I wasnt going to write a review but after 3 reminder emails here I am.
