I used to consider this a great company with good prices and excellent customer service. However, my recent experience has been deeply disappointing. I received a book that was no longer sealed in plastic, covered in scratches, and looked secondhand. It was an Absolute Edition, and it seems they didn’t even bother to take the book out of the slipcase during inspection, otherwise, they would have clearly seen the scratches.They claim that 3% of books might not be sealed or may have imperfections, but they supposedly inspect these thoroughly and send photos if the book doesn’t meet their standards. I received no such photos, and my book was far from new.As a loyal customer who has spent hundreds of euros with them, I expected better. Instead, I was told to return the book at my own expense (around €21) if they disagreed with my claim, with no replacement offered. Otherwise, I had to keep it. I didn’t pay for a used book, and if I had known this was possible, I wouldn’t have bought it, even if it was on sale.The book looked truly used, with scratches all over, and was not suitable for my collection. Every book I’ve ordered before was new and in perfect condition. This one clearly wasn’t, and they failed to acknowledge their mistake. It’s been bothering me so much that I felt I had to write this review.Unfortunately, this incident has forced me to change my previously positive review into a negative one, and it is now difficult to trust them again.If you buy from DirectMarketComics, always ask if the book is still sealed, or you might end up with a used, damaged product, and paying for their errors.
