Perfection! I don’t think I can come up with enough positive accolades for just how much we enjoyed our 2-week trip to Costa Rica in April. My husband and I were traveling with another couple and between the 4 of us we have traveled to or lived in almost every country on 6 continents. When I say that Melanie and Kathleen (Dive the Americas) are the absolute best travel planners we’ve ever had, there truly is no higher praise or recommendation. They planned an amazing trip and thought of absolutely everything, varying modes of travel, cultural and wildlife experiences, and even a WhatsApp chat group so that we could contact each other throughout our trip. With all of our travels, we have never had that ease of contact and communication with the travel agents. We visited 4 different areas: Baja del Toro cloud forest, Arenal, Manuel Antonio, and Drake Bay/Osa Peninsula with some sort or tour or activity each day. The hotels/lodges they chose were amazing and vastly different from each other so we received a unique experience at each, but all were similar in that customer service and attention to detail was exceptional. ALL of the tours, which were handpicked by DTA were some of the best that we have ever had. Some of our favorite experiences were 1. Having the gorgeous 100ft sailboat Brisa Elegante all to ourselves for the afternoon of snorkeling and water sports.2. Amazing wildlife viewings: tapirs, scarlet Macaws, Toucans, Eyelash viper, hundreds of hummingbirds, poison dart frogs3. Many sloths, but the most precious juvenile 3-toed sloth just outside our door eating his leaves. Our room was in the canopy of the trees eye-level with him. We could have touched him if we wanted to…he was that close!4. All 4 monkey groups. Howlers waking us up each morning, White-face/Capuchins being sneaky and taking dips in our plunge pool, Squirrel and Spider monkeys swinging in the trees and playing with their babies.5. And so much more that I could go on and on!I have no doubt that we could blindly trust Melanie and Kathleen to send us on another magical trip with nothing more than a budget, range of dates, and a surprise me with the location…and it would be perfection!
