Like how(in the USA) we have a Michael's or Jo Ann's Fabric, I had thought it was a person's name intentionally that had a ring and rhyme to it. But actually Doreen originated from the greek/latin prefix/suffix doron; which means gift. So it translates as "gift beads," because that's what they want you to feel like; as if you are recieving a gift. Alas though, I will continue to call it Doreen's bead when I am talking about it to my sweetheart. Only because I have a difficult time changing it to the correct way haha:)
